The contract for new enterprise centre marks the second project that Kier is delivering to Braintree District Council following its appointment to build $41.6m (£30m) Victoria Square regeneration scheme.

The project will include 35 new homes, pharmacy, 70-bed Travelodge, new bus interchange, a café/restaurant, a new public realm, and a twin-level car park.

Kier Regional Building Eastern managing director Mark Dady said: “The sustainable design of the building highlights how we can help our clients achieve their sustainability aims, through the projects we deliver.

“Our appointment to this scheme follows the ongoing success of our Victoria Square Regeneration project which is due to complete later this year. Both projects will greatly benefit Braintree by providing new facilities and employment opportunities for the community.”
