Kier has secured a place on Lots 4 and 5 of the £500m Central Bedfordshire Construction Framework in the UK.

It had bid for the both the lots.

Central Bedfordshire Council had released the first construction framework, which will run for four years.

Lot 4 is for £8m-£15m projects and may include a mix of projects for refurbishments, remodelling and new builds.

Lot 5 is for over £15m projects and is likely to include the same mix of projects as Lot 4.

Kier Eastern & Midlands managing director Mark Dady said: “We’re extremely pleased to have been awarded a place on the inaugural framework, which will deliver a large number of public sector schemes over the next four years and provide us with the opportunity to use our strong regional supply chain and technical expertise to delivery exceptional value for Central Bedfordshire Council and the community.”

Central Bedfordshire Council executive member for housing and assets and councillor Eugene Ghent said: “Having our own procurement framework and choosing from a carefully selected group of firms has significant benefits. It will offer cost savings and speed up the procurement process meaning we can get schemes built quicker.

“Importantly, we will work closely with a smaller number of firms forging important relationships and this collaborative working will ensure we can deliver quality, value for money projects which support our ambitions for Central Bedfordshire and our residents. We look forward to working closely with our selected partners over the next four years as we build prosperity for our local communities.”

Kier recently secured places on regional frameworks, including the £150m Cambridgeshire County Council Design & Building Contractor Framework that was awarded late last year.
