Jeddah Central Development Company (JCDC) has appointed GMP International Spain and urban development consultants Khatib and Alami to provide design and engineering services for the stadium to be built at $20bn Jeddah Central Project in Saudi Arabia, reported TradeArabia.

The Jeddah Central project will be implemented on a 5.7-million m2 area in central Jeddah.

With a waterfront location having a 9.5km shoreline, the project will feature a marina to accommodate yachts.

JCDC is a subsidiary of Saudi sovereign wealth fund Public Investment Fund.

GMP International is an architectural consultancy with more than five decades of experience. It has been involved in the development of stadiums in South Africa, Russia and several countries.

The engineering work will be carried out by urban and regional planning and engineering company Khatib & Alami.
