
Jacobs has been selected as a partner by the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) to aid in the development and management of 12 industrial corridors across India.
The contract requires Jacobs to provide programme management services over a three-year period. It encompasses planning, design review, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation, stakeholder coordination, and more.
Jacobs executive vice-president Keith Lawson said: “This appointment strengthens and extends our longstanding partnership with NICDC in delivering smart, greenfield developments that advance growth.
“We bring decades of programme management experience to support India’s industrial transformation – paving the way for economic and broader socioeconomic development for years to come.”
This initiative falls under the National Industrial Corridor Development Program.
The move is poised to revolutionise India’s industrial sector by fostering a network of industrial precincts and cities designed to enhance manufacturing capabilities and global competitiveness.

By GlobalDataSpanning ten states and six major corridors, the project’s vision is to establish smart cities that are prepared for future demand.
These cities will be equipped with foundational infrastructure to expedite industrial growth, improving sustainable and efficient operations and encouraging planned urbanisation.
The industrial corridor project is being designed with the concept of seamless connectivity, incorporating ICT-enabled utilities.
NICDC estimates that the programme could attract investments of around $18bn. The initiative is expected to create approximately one million direct and up to three million indirect jobs.
