This new mixed-used project, which will have a gross floor area of 42,000m², will be built in two phases, with 37,500m² of residential use and 4,500m² of combined office and retail use.

The project will be located in the ‘Sloterstrip’-zone of the Schinkelkwartier development zone situated on the boundary between the Nieuw-West and Zuid-districts.

The City of Amsterdam aims to transform and rehabilitate this zone plans over the next 25 years.

Expected to become a new mixed and sustainable district, Schinkelkwartier will comprise abundant greenspace and canals. It is planned to be well served by public transportation and soft mobility solutions.

As part of the neighbourhood redeployment, 11,000 homes are planned to be created to meet the surging housing demand of the market.

The existing buildings on the site are currently occupied by a hardware-store and a public broadcaster.

ICN director Jan Coenegrachts said: “ICN’s teams have the know how to bring our highest quality standards to the large developments like these.

“We will meet the city’s ambition to provide attractive new living environments where lifestyle aspirations meet at an ideal location, relaxed urban atmosphere and leisure and greenspace for its inhabitants.”

Throughout the acquisition phase, Loyens & Loef, Drees & Sommer and RESI have counselled the developers. Colliers and Dudok advised Corendon.
