US-based hospitality firm Hyatt Hotels has announced the opening of Hyatt Centric Downtown Portland in Oregon, US.

The company stated that it is the first Hyatt Centric hotel in the Pacific Northwest.

Located at 601 SW 11 Avenue in the heart of Portland’s hip West End District, the new hotel has been designed in collaboration between Mortenson, a Portland-based developer and design builder, and Sera Architects. The hotel stands at a short distance from local landmarks such as Powell’s Books and the Pearl District.

Hyatt Centric Downtown Portland will feature 220 rooms and guestrooms highlighting key elements of the city through décor and design.

The new hotel will also provide a vinyl player in the hotel’s 13 suites and 11 studio rooms.

Hyatt Centric Downtown Portland features a Catalan and Spanish-inspired restaurant named MASIA, which is headed by chef Jose Chesa.

The hotel has a 24-hour fitness centre and three meeting spaces, which includes the 1,368ft² Pettygrove Room that can be divided in half to house smaller groups, and 428ft² technology-driven boardroom.

Claimed to be pet-friendly, Hyatt Centric Downtown Portland offers its pet guests with a bowl, treat and in-room bed.
