Hudson Pacific Properties and Blackstone have secured approval at planning committee to develop Sunset Waltham Cross Studios, a studio facility for feature films, television and digital production in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, UK.
Preliminary work at the site is expected to commence in H2 2022, with construction to begin next year.

This project is anticipated to create more than 4,800 jobs in Broxbourne and the surrounding area whilst contributing over £300m per to the local economy.
Hudson Pacific and the funds managed by Blackstone will transform a 91-acre site into a 1.2 million ft2 studio campus.

By GlobalDataThe project will feature 21 sound stages totalling 470,000ft2, 420,000ft2 of workshop and mill space, and 250,000ft2 of stage-adjacent production office and support space as well as basecamp and backlot spaces.

Expected to become one of the ‘greenest’ studios in the UK, Sunset Waltham Cross Studios will target LEED Gold certification and a BREEAM Excellent rating.
Its stages with up to 50-foot clear heights with different sizes will be able to accommodate almost any kind of production.
Sunset Waltham Cross is situated just 17 miles north of central London, close to both the M25 and A10 highways, and close to Overground and National Rail stations.
This project is Blackstone and Hudson Pacific’s first expansion outside of the US for its jointly owned Sunset Studios, which now features five facilities and more than 60 stages.
