Heinrich Binder, the chief executive of troubled German contractor Philipp Holzmann, has resigned. The decision comes in the wake of the company’s near bankruptcy before a rescue package was launched by the German government. Civil action is being taken against former executives of the company as the Holzmann supervisory board attempts to unravel apparent losses of $1.2bn.
