US-based real estate firm Hines has announced plans to construct a timber office and residential building in Austin, Texas.

The new development, named T3 Eastside, will be the company’s first Class-A timber project with a residential component.

Located at 1200 East 4th Street, the building will include 92,000ft2 of office space and 9,200ft2 of residential space featuring 15 loft-style units.

T3 Eastside will be complemented with advanced technology, unparalleled amenities, and renewability.

Residents will have access to many local food and beverage, grocery and live music favorites including Hopdoddy Burger Bar, Juiceland, Dolce Neve Gelato, The Historic Scoot Inn, Cosmic Coffee, Native Hostel and Whole Foods.

The company stated that the project will be constructed using sustainably sourced wood.

Leasing for the T3 Eastside will be handled by real estate company JLL.

Recently, the company acquired 10 Ballarat Street, Brunswick in Melbourne, Australia to develop a 250-unit build-to-rent (BTR) apartment complex.
