HG Construction has been selected as the main contractor by development company Argent Related for the construction of the fourth residential building in Tottenham Hale.

The new North Island building will comprise 136 new homes, including 80 shared ownership and the remaining 56 for market sale.

It will include a 3,000ft2 of commercial space on the ground floor with flexible use for a café, restaurants and shops facing the Station Road and The Hale.

The facility is part of Argent Related’s Tottenham Hale regeneration scheme, which involves construction of six buildings that will deliver 1,036 new homes, 15 new retail spaces, co-working and office space.

The scheme also includes a health centre serving 30,000 local people and three new public squares, all minutes from Tottenham Hale station.

Argent Related stated that the new residential building has been designed by architects Alford Hall Monaghan Morris, while landscape architects Grants Associates have been commissioned to conceive the design of new public and green spaces.

The construction of the North Island building is estimated to create nearly 27 full-time equivalent (FTE) jobs.

Approximately 1,600 new residents are planned to be moved into their new homes from 2022.

HG Construction CEO Christopher Benham said: “We are delighted to be Argent Related’s construction partner for this exciting and innovative scheme and look forward to working together.

“North Island is a key building block in the wider regeneration of Tottenham Hale, a project which will kickstart the local economy and transform the area into a thriving new destination for Londoners.”
