GMI Construction Group has completed construction on a new warehouse/industrial development at the Fradley Park development in Lichfield, UK for real estate developer Evans Property Group.

The new 437,000ft² project includes a 407,000ft² of warehouse space and a 30,000ft² CAT A office accommodation.

Claimed to be GMI’s latest major project on Fradley Park, the new development has been constructed in eight months.

Kilmartin Plowman & Partners have served as the architectural services for the project while JPG served as structural engineers and the construction consultancy.

Sprawling over 350 acres of the land, Fradley Park development provides an ideal location for warehousing distribution and manufacturing facilities, said GMI Construction Group.

It provides opportunities for both existing buildings and build-to-suit developments from 50,000ft² to 230,000ft².

The development, which is located 4.5 miles from T4 and T5 of M6 Toll Road, has planning agreements for more than 4 million ft² of warehouse, industrial, offices and business support facilities.

More than 2.9 million ft² of the development has already been developed and occupied by companies that include Tesco, Geze, Newell Rubbermaid, Great Bear Distribution, DHL and Palletways.

The Fradley Park development is located in the near proximity to the M1, M42, M40, M6 and A50 and has access to both Birmingham International and East Midlands airports.

GMI divisional managing director Marc Banks said: “Fradley Park is a stand-out location for logistics and home to many leading, well known brands.

“In the last 12-18 months GMI have been constructing and developed in excess of 10 separate logistics/industrial development projects, and so this further serves to underpin our credentials in this important sector which continues to experience strong growth.”

Previously, the firm has completed construction on an 800,000ft² regional distribution facility on Fradley Park in 28 weeks for supermarket retailer Tesco.
