Construction engineering company Gammon Construction has secured three commercial and residential development contracts in Hong Kong and Kowloon.

The company is a 50/50 joint venture (JV) between Balfour Beatty and Asian-based conglomerate Jardine Matheson.

Under the first contract, awarded by Swire Properties, Gammon will be responsible for the construction of a footbridge that will connect the new Grade-A office tower to another Grade-A office building 28 Hennessy Road.

The deal also includes all the associated alteration and additional works at the project.

Gammon will also install a 5G network across the site to provide effective data flow and to ensure the efficient delivery of the project.

The Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) methods will be used for the steel frame of the office tower.

The construction engineering company has also secured contract to build Kowloon Peak Residential Project on behalf of The Wharf and Wheelock Properties (Hong Kong).

Scope of the work under the contract involves construction of four new residential towers in Kowloon.

As part of the project, the company will also install Enertainer, an electrically powered battery storage system, to reduce carbon emissions and fuel consumption.

The third contract involves construction of three residential towers, a five-level podium and four link bridges, at Lohas Park in Tseung Kwan O New Town.

A consortium of Sino Land Company, K. Wah International and China Merchants Land is developing the project that is scheduled to be completed in 2024

The work on Hong Kong Island and Kowloon contracts is planned to be completed in 2023.
