The Highways business of the UK-based construction firm Galliford Try has secured work on the final phase of the Grantham Southern Relief Road.
Lincolnshire County Council is leading the project, which is supported by South Kesteven District Council, Homes England and the Greater Lincolnshire LEP.
The work on the Grantham Southern Relief Road involves construction of the 3.5km relief road in three phases and aims to improve the town’s infrastructure and growth.
This phase follows works on the second phase, which is currently under way and expected to be concluded later this year.
Scheduled to begin in April, the work on the final phase, worth £48m, involves connection of the A52 at Somerby Hill to the B1174, crossing the Witham Valley, River Witham and East Coast railway line through a new viaduct.
Upon completion, the complete Grantham Southern Relief Road will stretch for 3.5km, connecting the A52 at Somerby Hill to the A1.
