Italian manufacturer of branded chocolate and confectionery products Ferrero has unveiled plans to build its first North American chocolate manufacturing centre in Bloomington, Illinois.
The new facility will be the expansion of the company’s Bloomington centre. It will produce chocolate for its brands such as Crunch, 100Grand, SnoCaps, Raisinets, Goobers, Ferrero Rocher and other Ferrero products that are made in North America.

The $75m expansion will add 70,000ft2 to Ferrero’s 2501 Beich Road facility. Work on the expansion project is expected to start by next spring and will create approximately 50 local jobs.

“We are therefore delighted to announce that construction will begin on Ferrero’s first chocolate manufacturing centre in North America – a key strategic market for us.

The company has also opened new distribution centres in Pennsylvania, Arizona and Georgia, and management of two facilities in Franklin Park, Illinois along with the plant in Bloomington.
