Eiffage Construction, as part of a consortium with GroupeHospitalier Nord-Essonne, has secured a €141m contract to design, build and maintain Paris-Saclay hospital.

The new 45,000m² medical facility is expected to have a combination of medical, surgical and obstetric services from the Juvisy, Orsay and Longjumeau hospitals and will have a capacity of 416 beds.

Work on the hospital is expected to begin in next summer and it is expected to be completed in late 2023. The teams from the consortium are expected to offer maintenance and servicing of the hospital for five years from the date of opening.

According to the French construction company, the contract reflects its position in the health sector and follows three other contracts signed by its subsidiaries Eiffage Construction and Eiffage Énergie Systèmes. The four contracts are worth nearly €210m.

In February this year, Eiffage Construction secured a contract for the expansion of the Compiègne-Noyon hospital complex. As per the contract, Eiffage will build 6,800m² of operating theatres, cardiology and endoscopy wards along with the renovation of the emergency unit.

Eiffage Énergie Systèmes will be responsible for the design and implementation of the electrical and medical fluids work packages.

During the 24 months of on-site works, the site will remain open. Work on the site will begin after an eight-month design phase is completed and is expected to be delivered in 2022.

Earlier this year, as part of a consortium, Eiffage secured a design-build contract to restructure and expand the Sens hospital complex covering almost 11,000m² of area.

Under the project, women, mothers and children’s units, haemodialysis clinic, health centre, and combined adult and paediatric emergency units will be constructed. Work will begin after a seven-month design phase and the delivery is expected to take place in 2022.

The fourth project secured by Eiffage Énergie Systèmes includes two full works packages relating to complete restructuring of the 60,000m² university hospital centre in Reims.

As part of a consortium, the company will offer electrical works package including the installation package for technical and HVACE equipment, plumbing, medical gas and fire protection systems. Project delivery is expected to take place by the end of 2023.
