Latest figures from the European Investment Bank show that loans worth almost $700m have been made for road and urban transportation schemes in Tunisia, the Czech Republic, Romania and Slovenia. This brings to almost $3.5bn the lending to the three latter countries by the EIB to date. Since 1990, some $9.8bn has been lent to projects in 12 central and eastern European countries.
