China-based overhead crane manufacturer DGCrane has exported a 5t single-girder overhead crane to a customer in Morocco.

The inquiry originated in October 2024, with the customer seeking a crane specifically designed for lifting marble, a material that requires careful handling due to its weight and fragility.

The company has provided an HD FEM standard single-girder overhead crane with a capacity of 5t, a span length of 13.5m, and a lifting height of 9m.

It operates under a work duty classification of A5 and is powered by a 380V/50Hz/3Ph power source. The control mode is remote control.

The need for precision control and smooth operation was paramount, as improper handling could result in damage to the marble slabs, according to the company.

After discussions regarding the technical specifications, DGCrane proposed the HD-type single-girder bridge crane, which features a frequency conversion design.

This design facilitates smooth acceleration and deceleration, enhances precise positioning, and minimises the risk of impact during the lifting and transportation of marble.

In November 2024, the team adjusted the crane solution to accommodate budgetary and shipping considerations by omitting the main beam from the shipment, thereby reducing ocean freight costs.

Following a comprehensive review and agreement on the technical specifications, cost estimates, and business terms, both parties formalised the procurement contract in May this year.

Subsequently, DGCrane’s production team established a manufacturing schedule, conducted thorough quality inspections, and prepared the crane for international shipment, ensuring it meets the necessary standards for safely and efficiently lifting marble.

In July this year, DGCrane delivered five LDE-type single-girder overhead cranes to a galvanising factory in Turkmenistan.

The initial order was for six cranes, but changes to the layout plan resulted in a final order of five.
