A 54-storey tower at Lot 4 of Elizabeth Quay in Western Australia has secured developmental approval.

This is considered the last of remaining parcel of land at the waterside precinct.

The $400m building will be constructed at the corner of The Esplanade and William Street, opposite the Elizabeth Quay Station.

It will provide 70,000m2 of office space and 176 short-stay accommodation units to the Central Business District.

Among the other plans for the project include a range of amenities including restaurant, café and bar tenancies, a gym, child-care centre and rooftop pool.

The project will be developed by CA Corporation.

It joins Far East Consortium’s Ritz Carlton development; Brookfield’s Lot 5, 6 and 7 developments; and the EQ West development on Lots 2 and 3 by CA & Associates.

The eight buildings approved at Elizabeth Quay will together see over $1.82bn in private construction investment, and provide 1,053 dwellings; 654 hotel and short-stay accommodation rooms; office space; and a range of dining and entertainment options.

Western Australia Lands Minister Tony Buti said: “Perth CBD is growing up and building out Elizabeth Quay will help transform it into the buzzing, vibrant precinct it has the potential to be. Once all the developments are built, Elizabeth Quay is expected to be home to up to 2,000 residents and host around 10,000 city workers.”

Buti further added: “From the ECU City Campus to the WACA redevelopment, exciting things are happening all across the CBD as it continues to evolve through the 21st century. The tower on Lot 4 will likely be the fifth tallest in the CBD once completed.”

The development of Elizabeth Quay will see creation of thousands of construction jobs.

On completion, this waterfront location is expected to play a “pivotal role in supporting CBD businesses and furthering Perth’s growth as a thriving modern city”.
