Asia-Pacific Consulting (Apeco) has been appointed by the Vietnamese government to oversee the award of the design contract for the $400M east-west highway in Ho Chi Minh City which includes a tunnel under the Saigon river. Tenders for the design consultancy are about to be invited ready for a contract award in June. Work on the 21.8km long highway is due to start in late 2002.
