Graham, Balfour Beatty Group, Kier Group and Robertson Group have commenced work on a project to transform Scottish Events Campus in Glasgow, UK into a new temporary 300-bed hospital to treat coronavirus patients.

The team will be responsible for delivering the new temporary NHS Scotland Hospital, NHS Louisa Jordan, on behalf of the Scottish Government, in a bid to provide extra patient capacity and flexibility during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Works include laying 25,000m² of vinyl flooring, installing and commissioning life-saving oxygen and gas systems, constructing sterile temporary wards, as well as a range of other tasks.

In addition to serving as a principal contractor, Balfour Beatty will deliver elements of the mechanical and electrical engineering for the project.

Additionally, Graham will be responsible for providing logistics planning, provision of external gases and external utilities for the site.
