Compass Health has broken ground on phase one of its new Broadway Campus Redevelopment in downtown Everett, Washington.
Compass Health’s roadway Campus Redevelopment will be a five-storey, 47,000ft², regional centre, where behavioural healthcare, primary healthcare and permanent supportive housing services will be brought together.

Work on phase one will begin this month and is expected to open in 2021. The initial phase, worth $26m, will include 82 new units of permanent supportive housing for patients with chronic behavioural health challenges.
It will also include units available to military veterans and individuals who transition into the community from Western State Hospital. The project is expected to double the housing capacity of Compass Health in Snohomish County.
Lotus Development Partners will serve as the development manager of the first phase of the development while Environmental Works will act as the architect and BNBuilders will serve as the general contractor.

The second phase of the redevelopment will include the construction of a behavioural health prevention and early intervention facility, which will replace its 70-year-old Bailey Center building on Broadway Avenue.
Compass Health said that the third phase the campus redevelopment is still in the early design stages. This phase is expected to integrate behavioural health services with a primary healthcare clinic and pharmacy along with supporting other services.
Compass Health CEO Tom Sebastian said: “We are thrilled to put shovels in the ground and take this step forward to expand our services and improve instances of care.
“Although this is just the start of our project, it’s a privilege to transform this city block and see our community rallying behind us. We’ve been planning for a long time, and now we can finally see that first physical footprint of where we will host our peer support and homeless outreach programs.”
