A commercial scheme, designed by Bennetts Associates and Divercity Architects for Greek developer Dimand, has secured permission from the planning authorities in Athens, Greece.
The 15,600m2 project, to be located at Leoforos Syngrou, will create a workplace and have sustainability features.

This new build scheme will be located adjacent to the Hellenic General Insurance headquarters, the Onassis Stegi and the Intercontinental Athenaeum Hotel.
Ground has been broken for the project, which is expected to be completed by the spring of next year.
To give an Athenian feel to the scheme, traditional design themes and local materials will be used in the project.
The project will feature two eight storey buildings, which will be clad in vertical white marble louvers.

The guiding principle of the project is based on “the Athenian preoccupation with the 3 S’s – ‘shade, shade, shade’”.
This project will feature low energy ventilation system, while its upper terraces will be planted. The green roof is expected to not only enhance biodiversity, but also help in reducing cooling loads.
Materials with high percentages in recycled content will be used in the construction of the buildings to reduce carbon footprint.
These materials have been chosen on the basis of Life Cycle Assessment approach, which evaluates the carbon of the scheme.
The core and the facade have been planned in a way to ensure a good distribution of daylight.
