Carthago, a German motorhome manufacturer, has begun construction of $48.6m facility in Ormoz of northeastern Slovenia.
Carthago Slovenian unit director Sandra Zupanec stated that the company planned to start production at the new factory by next year.

It initially intends to hire 160 employees at the new facility.
The German company has been running a motorhome production factory in Odranci, also in Slovenia, since 2008, reported SeeNews.
It has 800 employees at the Odranci facility.
Public broadcaster RTV reported that the company plans to change vans into motorhomes of its Malibu Van model at the Ormoz factory.

Kern also added that the company is already facing supply problems and higher prices.
Carthago was founded by Karl-Heinz Schuler in 1979. It is headquartered at Aulendorf of Germany.
The business group at present employs more than 1,500 people and is considered one of the principal motorhome manufacturers in Europe.
Its integrated motorhomes are priced in a range of around €50,000 to €200,000.
