The on-off take-over of the UK aggregates group Tarmac by the South African corporation Anglo American appears to be back on track. Tarmac previously refused offers from Anglo of 856 cents/share and 880 cents/share. Then Anglo informed Tarmac that talks had been ended. An indicated price of 936 cents has thought to have been offered and, following rumours that talks had resumed, Tarmac’s shares soared to 886 cents/share.
