The Bracknell Forest Cambium Partnership, a joint venture (JV) between developer Countryside and Bracknell Forest Council, has secured planning consent for the development of Coopers Hill site in the UK.

The approval, which is subject to a Section 106 agreement, allows the development of the Coopers Hill site on the edge of Bracknell town centre.

The JV is committed to a £124m full regeneration programme of Bracknell Town Centre that involves redevelopment of three council-owned sites in Market Street, Jubilee Gardens and Coopers Hill.

The regeneration programme aims to further revitalise the town centre and provide homes in the centre of the borough.

The Coopers Hill development project will provide 52 new homes that include 12 two-bedroom flats, six three-bedroom flats, 22 two-bedroom houses and 12 three-bedroom houses.

Of the total new homes, 25% will be affordable. They will be located within walking distance of all the new amenities, shops, restaurants and leisure facilities.

The site will also include 78 car and 122 bike parking spaces, new pedestrian walkways and additional landscaping along with a full tree planting programme.

Work on the project is scheduled to commence later this year and the first new homes are expected to be completed in 2023.

Bracknell Forest Council Economic Development and Regeneration executive member Marc Brunel-Walker said: “The redevelopment of Coopers Hill is a significant part of our overarching regeneration of Bracknell town centre – the first new town to be comprehensively redesigned and regenerated.

“Achieving planning permission is a key milestone in realising our joint vision for the site, which will seek to bring much-needed new homes for families right on the doorstep of the new shops, restaurants, leisure and entertainment facilities that we have in the heart of Bracknell town centre.”
