Black Construction, the Guam-based subsidiary of construction company Tutor Perini Corporation, has secured an $83.73m contract for design and construction of wharf improvements at Naval Base Guam.
This firm-fixed-price contract has been awarded by the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, Pacific District.

The work to be carried out includes the renovation and modernisation of Berth 2 to offer complete capability to support two loaded T AKE vessels with the accurate depth of water, enough wharf length, and power and utilities.
Work will begin immediately, with the project completion expected by September 2024.
The company will include the contract value in its second-quarter 2022 backlog.
Earlier this month, the Black Construction-Tutor Perini joint venture was awarded two new projects together valued at around $122 million by the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, Pacific Division.

By GlobalDataBlack Construction-Tutor Perini JV was awarded a $73.02m firm-fixed-price task order to build low-rise facilities to support the 4th Marine Regiment at Naval Support Activity, Marine Corps Base Guam.
This work to be carried out includes construction of an auto maintenance shop with a dispatch office, electronics-communications maintenance shop, company-level administrative space, organic storage, four vehicle wash facilities, and two vehicle grease racks.
Work for this contract is expected to be completed by August 2024.
The JV was also awarded a $48.91m firm-fixed-price task order for construction work at Andersen Air Force Base (AAFB), Guam.
The work to be carried out features construction of a permanent aviation administrative building that will offer command and administrative areas for Marine Aircraft Group Headquarters, Marine Air Control Group Detachment, and air operations personnel, besides support Marine Corps aircraft and personal on AAFB and Marine Corps Base Guam operations.
