Balfour Beatty has secured a £32m ($44.1m) contract to construct a new ophthalmology and orthopaedic health facility in Inverness for NHS Highland.
Balfour will construct an 8,305m2 National Treatment Centre, which will include 24 inpatient rooms, five operation theatres, clinics and outpatient departments.

The firm will also construct minor operation and procedure rooms, consulting rooms, a café, a playing area for children and office support rooms.
The new health facility will provide elective orthopaedic surgery, and complete ophthalmology services to surrounding communities.

By GlobalDataThe early works for the project had already started in the summer of last year. The project is scheduled to be completed by next year.
During the peak construction period, the project will provide employment to around 300 people.
