Balfour Beatty has begun construction of the Downtown Cary Park in Cary, North Carolina, the US.

The development of the project has begun following a 20-year vision of the Cary town’s plans to revitalise and propel future economic growth.

The new Downtown Cary Park is located at 327 S. Academy Street and is slated for completion in summer 2023.

Balfour Beatty secured the contract to transform the now one-acre park into seven acres that will include spaces for active performances/concerts, farmers’ markets, interactive public art installations, food and beverage facilities, children’s play areas and a dog-friendly bar.

Among the additional key features include botanical gardens displaying native plants and elevated bridges that overlook the park area.

The firm plans to include sustainable elements in the development of the park, such as green stormwater landscaping, non-toxic materials, and recycled wood from the construction.
