Property company Balder is set to commence construction on new apartments, named Fabrique 46, on Karlastaden housing development district in Stockholm, Sweden.

Located in the northwestern part of the district, at the Göransgatan/Warfvinges väg intersection, the new 138 apartments are planned to be ready for occupation starting in autumn 2023.

Balder regional manager David Johansson said: “The plans for Western Kungsholmen are to create a dense, green and attractive district and at Balder we are very happy to be part of this development.”

Said to be company’s first project with an aim to secure Nordic Swan ecolabel, Fabrique 46 will comprise four buildings.

Ranging from eight to 12 floors, the buildings will have several premises on the ground floor as well as a garage in the basement.

Designed by Semrén & Månsson, the new buildings will connect to Stadshagen’s existing and dense industrial character.

In preparation of construction, the demolition commenced of the office property in September 2021.

Said to be the first newly produced residential buildings in the immediate area, Fabrique 46 will be one of the tallest structures in the zoning plan.

Earlier this year, Balder and construction engineering company Serneke group formed a joint venture (JV) company to develop additional properties in the Karlastaden housing development district, Sweden.
