Construction firm The JR Group has secured a contract from UK-based Ayrshire Housing to deliver new housing in Carrick Street, Ayr.
The JR Group will be responsible for the construction of 31 high-specification flats in the heart of the town centre across from the Gaiety Theatre.
Planned for completion by spring 2023, these houses include 22, one-bedroom flats as well as nine, two-bedroom flats.
The JR Group managing director Gary McGregor said: “This marks our first project we will deliver for Ayrshire Housing, and we’re delighted to be working together. We look forward to developing a successful working relationship with them.”
The company expects the new houses to complement the ongoing adjacent project that aims to transform the Kyle Centre into a cinema and leisure hub.
Ayrshire Housing director Jim Whiston said: “This development, designed by Ayr based ARPL Architects will increase the range of housing in the town centre with its focus on accessibility and adaptability. It also supports South Ayrshire Council’s ambitious plans to revitalise the town centre.”
