Avant Homes has secured planning consent from Leeds City Council to deliver $69.7m (£49.3m) development in Micklefield, UK.

The project, dubbed Radford’s Meadow, is located on a 14-acre site on Micklefield’s Church Lane between Leeds and Pontefract.

It will deliver 150 new-build homes featuring two, three and four-bedroom homes across 24 of Avant Homes’ high-quality house designs.

The first homes of the development are expected to be ready for occupation and go on sale in June 2021 with the whole development expected to take nearly five years.

Avant Homes stated that about 15% of the homes have been designated as affordable housing.

In addition to these 150 homes, the company has committed a $1.55m (£1.1m) contribution to local transport and infrastructure.

The project is expected to create approximately 120 jobs across construction and sales.

Avant Homes Yorkshire managing director Chris Coley said: “Micklefield is a very appealing location, just six miles east of Leeds city centre, so we’re pleased to have received planning permission and now look forward to moving ahead with our plans.

“Initial groundworks are expected to get underway at Radford’s Meadow in a matter of weeks before we reveal the first homes for sale in June.”

Recently, the company bought a four-acre parcel of land to deliver a new $19.09m (£13.5m) 72-home development in Hatfield, Doncaster.

Set to be named Chaucer’s Green, the development will feature a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes across eight of Avant Homes’s signature house designs along with a combination of terrace, semi-detached and detached properties.
