Arcadis, a sustainable design and engineering consultancy, as part of a joint venture (JV), is set to undertake the design phase of the Interstate 10 (I-10) Calcasieu Bridge Improvements Project in Louisiana, US.
The company will work in collaboration with Janssen and Spaans Engineering, Modjeski and Masters, and Huval and Associates, together referred to as Calcasieu Design Partners.
The P3 project, led by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and the Calcasieu Bridge Partners consortium, which includes Acciona, Sacyr, and Plenary, is valued at $2.3bn.
This initiative will replace the 70-year-old Calcasieu River Bridge, revitalising a key route between Lake Charles and Westlake in the state.
The JV will upgrade a five-and-a-half-mile stretch of I-10 from the I-10/I-210 interchange west to Ryan Street in Calcasieu Parish.
Arcadis’ role encompasses updating current interchanges and roadways alongside offering a broad spectrum of engineering and design services.
