
United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based property developer Arada has awarded a construction contract worth Dh60m ($16.3m) to Intermass for Masaar Central, a retail and lifestyle hub in Sharjah, UAE.
The project is part of Arada’s extensive forested development, Masaar, located in the Suyoh district.
The construction of Masaar Central is set to be completed by the end of 2026. This timeline aligns with the delivery of the final three residential phases of the Dh9.5bn community.
Intermass is already engaged in constructing several residential phases within Masaar.
Masaar Central will feature a variety of retail, dining, wellness, and educational services across 53,000ft² of gross leasable area (GLA). Key tenants will include a Carrefour supermarket, a Wellfit gym, and a Bright Star RGS nursery.

The broader Masaar development spans 19 million square feet and comprises 3,000 villas and townhouses distributed across six gated districts. These districts are interconnected via a green spine with 70,000 trees.
The Masaar community already hosts several amenities such as the Masaar Discovery Center, a children’s adventure playground, a water play area, a skate park, and the Zad food truck park. Additionally, Reigate Grammar School Masaar, a branch of a UK private school, is set to open in 2027.
The development also includes Masaar Track, a 6.6km forested cycleway with bridges and tunnels, which attracts numerous cyclists monthly. The Loop, meanwhile, provides bike rental and repair services and features a café.
Masaar is located near Tilal City, the Sharjah Mosque, and Arada’s initial project, Nasma Residences.
The community benefits from convenient access to Emirates Road and Mleiha Road and is a short drive from both Sharjah International Airport and Dubai International Airport.
In February 2025, Arada launched Masaar 2, a nearby 2,000-home community, which reportedly sold out in three hours.
Construction for Masaar 2 will commence before the year’s end, with the first homes anticipated to be ready by the end of 2027 and full community delivery by 2028.
