Under the contract, AECOM will deliver all engineering discipline services for the upgrade, which includes 14 new garages, new race control and increased capacity for the Paddock Club to accommodate 5,000 more motorsports fans.
The F1 track this year drew close to half a million fans.
Upgrades will bring the race-day infrastructure in line with other host cities, said AECOM in its press statement.
The local sporting community will benefit from seven indoor sport courts, two more than are currently on site, and improved clubrooms for clubs using the outdoor fields, the statement added.

By GlobalDataThe company added that its integrated engineering design team delivering the project will take a “holistic” approach and design for constructability to ensure the works are undertaken around the F1 calendar, minimising impacts on the event.
Central to the redeveloped precinct will be the use of timber in the upgraded Paddock Club, minimising its carbon footprint.
Albert Park amenity and accessibility will be improved, and the building will be able to be activated as a multi-functional event space for community uses throughout the year.
AECOM CEO for Australia and New Zealand region Mark McManamny said:
“This investment into Albert Park for Formula 1 and community sports will help secure our city’s legacy for global fans and the local community alike. I am proud of the role our team will play in delivering an unforgettable experience for all.”
The project is expected to be completed in time for the 2028 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix and will secure Albert Park for the event until 2037.
AECOM Australia and New Zealand region technical director and sector lead for sports, arts and culture Jochen Ristig said: “This project builds on our proven track record of delivering high-performing and sustainable timber projects, including our recent work with Icon on the award-winning T3 Collingwood.
“Being involved in a project with such global recognition is a career highlight and brings out the best of AECOM’s integrated delivery capability.”
