The Association of Consulting Engineers in the UK has awarded its first ever client best practice award for a project valued at over $7M to the Kent County Council Transport Management Unit for the Ramsgate Harbour Approach Road. The scheme included the construction of an 800m long tunnel constructed by the Taylor Woodrow/Perforex joint venture using the pre-vaulting excavation method (T&TI, February 99).
