
Real estate developer Nakheel has unveiled plans for two new shopping destinations, offering a total of 1.5m ft² of retail space in Dubai.
Plans include a 1m ft² regional shopping mall in Jumeirah Village Triangle and a 500,000ft² mall in Jumeirah Village Circle.
The regional mall, which is located on Al Khail road, will house a 15-screen cinema, an 80,000ft² hypermarket, an entertainment area, a department store and a selection of retailers, restaurants and cafés.
The mall will serve communities, including Al Furjan, Jumeirah Park and Jumeirah Village as well as Al Barsha area and all other surrounding areas.
The second shopping mall is located in Jumeirah Village Circle and will also feature cinemas, a supermarket and other retailers, restaurants and cafés.
Jumeirah Village is anticipated to accommodate for around 300,000 people.

By GlobalDataA Nakheel spokesman said that the retail expansion is key to the company’s business strategy and bringing new services and facilities to its community is one of the priorities.
"These new shopping malls will further enhance new Dubai and provide exciting new destinations for Dubai’s residents and visitors," the spokesman said.
The new malls, for which designers will be appointed shortly, are among several new Nakheel retail projects underway.
The company is also constructing Nakheel Mall on Palm Jumeirah, a new mall on Deira Islands, extensions to Dragon Mart and Ibn Battuta and several neighbourhood shopping centres in its communities.
