Construction of a 314m high MahaNakhon tower in Central Business District of Bangkok, Thailand, is to be completed this year.
The skyscraper is designed by Ole Scheeren, a German-born architect.

The 77-storey tower will house 200 serviced apartments, which would be operated by Ritz-Carlton, as well as a boutique hotel called Bangkok Edition to be operated by Marriot International and Ian Schrager, reported Dezeen.com.
Apartments would be priced from THB45m ($1.2m) to more than THB300m ($8.4m), reported Financial Times.
Currently, it would be the tallest tower in Bangkok, beating the Baiyoke Tower II, which was constructed in 1997 and is 304m tall.
However, MahaNakhon tower will soon be overtaken in height by a residential structure, which is currently under development.

MahaNakhon tower has been designed in a way to offer space not only within but also around its particular urban setting.
Scheeren’s studio Büro Ole Scheeren was quoted by Dezeen.com as saying that this tower is being ‘carefully carved to introduce a three-dimensional ribbon of architectural pixels that coil up the tower’s full height to reveal the inner life of the building’.
The development will cover around 150,000m² of space.
Once completed, it will feature restaurants, cafes, a shopping facility, a marketplace and a bar on rooftop.
Scheeren, who left OMA in 2010, also served as architect for OMA’s CCTV tower project in China.
