Construction work on the $800m Abukuma Onshore Wind Farm: 147 MW located in Fukushima, Japan commenced in Q2 2022. It was announced in Q3 2021.
The project involves the construction of four onshore wind power plants with a combined capacity of 147MW comprising 46 turbines of 3.2MW each in Abukuma, Fukushima, Japan.
The project includes the following:
1. Construction of substations
2. Installation of generators
3. Installation of transformers
4. Laying of transmission of lines
Construction on the project is expected to be completed by Q2 2025.
Owners of the project include Japan-based Sumitomo Corp, Japan Wind Development Ltd, Shinobuyama Fukushima Power Ltd, Fukushima Mirai Kenkyu-kai, Shimizu Corp, Obayashi Corp, Renova Inc, JR-East Energy Development.
