The industry’s overall hiring increased by 8.8% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.
Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.02% share in September 2021, recording a decrease of 0.13% over the last three-month average share.

By GlobalData1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 56.21% in September 2021, registering a 12.06% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 13.81% share, a decrease of 11.64% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 13.6%, registering a 41.2% decline from August 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 8.78%, down 57.51% over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 4.19% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s consumer industry during September 2021 over August 2021.
Carrier Global posted 85 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a rise of 107.32% over the previous month, followed by Hallmark Cards with 33 jobs and a 32% growth. JBS with 32 IT jobs and Reckitt Benckiser Group with 26 jobs, recorded a 33.33% decline and a 43.48% decrease, respectively, while PepsiCo recorded a decline of 25.81% with 23 job postings during September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 53.96%, down by 33.16% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 26.66% share, registered a decline of 13.54% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 18.2% share, down 6.08% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.18%, recording a month-on-month increase of 22.22%.
