Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.02% share in October 2021, recording an increase of 0.18% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 55.77% in October 2021, registering a 34.69% flat growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 15.49% share, an increase of 27.91% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 12.11%, registering a flat growth from September 2021.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 7.04%, up 4.17% over the previous month.

Top five construction companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 53.42% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s construction industry during October 2021 over September 2021.

COWI Holding posted 30 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a rise of 2900% over the previous month, followed by Babcock International Group with 23 jobs and a flat growth. Cummins with 21 IT jobs and Honeywell International with 21 jobs, recorded a 10.53% flat growth and an 110% flat growth, respectively, while Arup Group recorded a decline of 15% with 17 job postings during October 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.51%, up by 11.17% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with an 18.59% share, registered an increase of 46.67% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 14.93% share, up 70.97% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.97%, recording a month-on-month decline of 12.5%.
