Switzerland’s construction industry registered a 5.1% drop in IT hiring activity in March 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 1.11% in March 2022 when compared with February 2022.

Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 10.74% share in March 2022, recording an increase of 0.13% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 65.33% in March 2022, registering a 10.91% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 37.33% share, a decrease of 17.65% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 4%, registering a 50% decline from February 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 2.67%, down 60% over the previous month.

Top five construction companies in Switzerland’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 18.29% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Switzerland’s construction industry during March 2022 over February 2022.

Alpiq Anlagentechnik posted 49 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a drop of 22.22% over the previous month, followed by ABB with 8 jobs and an 11.11% drop. Sulzer with 4 IT jobs and Wartsila with 3 jobs, recorded a 42.86% decline and a 200% growth, respectively, while Mettler-Toledo International recorded an increase of 50% with 3 job postings during March 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 74.67%, down by 22.22% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 21.33% share, registered an increase of 6.67% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 4% share, down 62.5% over February 2022.
