The industry’s overall hiring increased by 1.26% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.
Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.68% share in September 2021, recording an increase of 1% over the last three-month average share.

By GlobalData1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 37.3% in September 2021, registering a 6.82% flat growth over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 32.14% share, an increase of 2.53% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 15.08%, registering a 26.67% rise from August 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 9.92%, flat growth over the previous month.
Top five construction companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 22.82% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s construction industry during September 2021 over August 2021.
The GPT Group posted 118 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a rise of 118.52% over the previous month, followed by Monadelphous Group with 32 jobs and a 49.21% drop. Actividades de Construccion y Servicios with 19 IT jobs and Downer EDI with 8 jobs, recorded a 58.33% flat growth and a 33.33% decrease, respectively, while Lendlease recorded a decline of 25% with 6 job postings during September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.29%, down by 6.36% from August 2021. Entry Level positions with an 18.25% share, registered an increase of 53.33% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 17.46% share, up 62.96% over August 2021.
