The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 3.22% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.
Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.8% share in June 2022, recording a decrease of 0.18% over the last three-month average share.

By GlobalData1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 35.86% in June 2022, registering a 17.46% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 27.59% share, a decrease of 11.11% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 14.48%, registering a 90.91% rise from May 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 8.28%, flat growth over the previous month.
Top five construction companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 17.14% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s construction industry during June 2022 over May 2022.
The GPT Group posted 28 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a rise of 16.67% over the previous month, followed by Actividades de Construccion y Servicios with 18 jobs and a 200% growth. Komatsu with 18 IT jobs and Arup Group with 11 jobs, recorded a 33.33% decline and an 83.33% growth, respectively, while Downer EDI recorded a flat growth with 7 job postings during June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.03%, up by 6.19% from May 2022. Entry Level positions with a 19.31% share, registered a decline of 20% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 9.66% share, down 22.22% over May 2022.
