A total of 82 deals worth $6.98bn were announced in March 2021, compared with the 12-month average of 61 deals.
M&A was the leading category in the month in terms of volume with 53 deals, which accounted for 64.6% of all deals.

By GlobalDataIn second place was venture financing with 15 deals, followed by private equity with 14 transactions, respectively accounting for 18.3% and 17.1% of overall deal activity in the US technology industry during the month.
In terms of value of deals, M&A was the leading deal category in the US construction & real estate industry with total deals worth $4.22bn, while private equity and venture financing deals totalled $2.43bn and $328.91m respectively.
