Computer and Mathematical Occupations, with a share of 15%, emerged as the top autonomous vehicles-related job roles within the construction industry in Q2 2024, with new job postings rising by 25% quarter-on-quarter. Architecture and Engineering Occupations came in second with a share of 12% in Q2 2024, with new job postings dropping by 7% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent autonomous vehicles roles include Management Occupations with a 12% share in Q2 2024, Life, Physical, and Social Science Occupations with a 4% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in construction industry accounted for 40% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q2 2024 were CNH Industrial, Fugro, Leoni, Jones Lang LaSalle, and AECOM. Together they accounted for a combined share of 40% of all autonomous vehicles-related new jobs in the construction industry.

CNH Industrial posted 30 autonomous vehicles-related new jobs in Q2 2024, Fugro 28 jobs, Leoni 28 jobs, Jones Lang LaSalle 27 jobs, and AECOM 20 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 36.72% share of total new job postings, Q2 2024

The largest share of autonomous vehicles-related new job postings in the construction industry in Q2 2024 was in the US with 36.72% followed by Brazil (17.91%) and Morocco (6.87%). The share represented by the US was one percentage point lower than the 37.92% share it accounted for in Q1 2024.
