Architecture and Engineering Occupations, with a share of 13%, emerged as the top autonomous vehicles-related job roles within the construction industry in Q4 2023, with new job postings drop by 60% quarter-on-quarter. Management Occupations came in second with a share of 8% in Q4 2023, with new job postings dropping by 20% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent autonomous vehicles roles include Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Occupations with an 8% share in Q4 2023, Computer and Mathematical Occupations with a 7% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in construction industry accounted for 62% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q4 2023 were Jones Lang LaSalle, Arup Group, AECOM, KION GROUP, and Fugro. Together they accounted for a combined share of 62% of all autonomous vehicles-related new jobs in the construction industry.

Jones Lang LaSalle posted 98 autonomous vehicles-related new jobs in Q4 2023, Arup Group 35 jobs, AECOM 17 jobs, KION GROUP 15 jobs, and Fugro 15 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 34.48% share of total new job postings, Q4 2023

The largest share of autonomous vehicles-related new job postings in the construction industry in Q4 2023 was in the US with 34.48% followed by Brazil (31.72%) and Germany (3.79%). The share represented by the US was 18 percentage points lower than the 52.80% share it accounted for in Q3 2023.
