The Wirth Group, German manufacturer of construction equipment, has formed a new US operating company called Wirth Service Inc.
The newly formed company will work as an umbrella company to co-ordinate sales and service for all Wirth product lines. These include Soltau Microtunnelling equipment, a division bought by Wirth in January 2000. Other services available are TBMs for rock and soft ground, Paurat roadheaders, the Eco drill vertical drilling rigs, Pile top drilling rigs and Power Bore HDD equipment.

The head office will remain in Charleston, South Carolina and the company will work through agents in the US for the various product lines.
