Workspace Group has secured further approval for the second phase of its mixed-use development in Wandsworth, in south-west London, UK.

The planning permission is for a site adjacent to the Filaments, Workspace’s current joint development with residential property developer Mount Anvil, on Buckhold Road, SW18.

The new scheme will feature a 20-storey tower comprising 77 apartments, 3,000ft² of retail and restaurant use and 15,000ft² of new business space.

Phase two of the site will bring Workspace’s overall business centre at the location to 70,000ft², capable of housing more than 120 businesses.

“The new business centre will be integrated into the local community, opening new pedestrian routes through to the high street.”

The first phase of the Workspace business centre is expected to open in December.

Workspace said the new business centre will be integrated into the local community, opening new pedestrian routes through to the high street and offering its customers views over St Georges Park.

Workspace chief executive officer Jamie Hopkins said that the new development will create a business centre, providing customers with space, well designed facilities and flexible leases.

“This development is at the centre of Wandsworth near the shopping centre and park, with excellent access to central London,” Hopkins said.

“The re-development will also provide a significant boost to both the capital value and rental income of the site, and demonstrates our ability to add significant value through asset management.”

Workspace owns and manages about 100 properties across London, providing 5.1 million ft² of space.
