Mill Creek Residential a US-based rental housing developer, owner-operator and investment manager, has broken ground on Amavi Sherrills Ford, a master-planned community in North Carolina.
Amavi Sherrills Ford is around 35 miles north of Charlotte and represents the company’s recent foray into the single-family build-to-rent segment.
The community will provide a mix of around 134 cottage-style homes.
The project is a part of the greater Village at Sherrills Ford master-planned mixed-use community, which includes retail and dining options apart from a Publix supermarket.
First occupation into the community is expected by summer 2023.

Amavi Sherrills Ford will be located along State Highway 150 and around 12 miles west of Mooresville, North Carolina, where Amavi Mooresville, Mill Creek’s first single-family, build-to-rent development was broken ground earlier this year.
Lake Norman State Park is located within a 20-minute drive from Amavi Sherrills Ford.
This park offers recreational opportunities, including hiking, fishing, camping and mountain biking.
Furthermore, Amavi Sherrill Ford is located within a 20-minute drive from Cornelius and a 25 minute-drive from Huntersville.
Amavi Sherrill Ford’s cottage homes will have feature two- and three-bedroom homes.
The two-bedroom homes will measure 962ft2, while the three-bedroom homes will measure 1,236ft2.
Community facilities will include a clubhouse and leasing office, swimming pool and cabana, outdoor barbecue and gathering areas, playground, pet park, open green space, and walking trails.
The project will also provide streetscapes and common areas.
