Colas, a subsidiary of the Bouygues Group, has secured two contracts worth €180m in Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa.
The company stated that the contracts are part of the National Infrastructure Development Plan that targets to improve interurban road network in the country.
Under the first contract, worth €157m, Colas Afrique will be responsible for redesigning and reinforcement of a 133km-long Route A1 (Route de l’Est) section between Agnibilékrou and Bondoukou.
It also involves upgrade of an existing 33-km dirt road section into a paved road between Agnibilékrou and Takikro.
Colas noted that both the road sections will need combined construction of 30 hydraulic engineering structures.
Work on the project will also involve construction of four engineering structures in Aniassué and Vonkoro, and at Sémien and Guiglo in the west.

The work on the project is planned to be completed in the fall of 2023.
In January this year, Colas and Parsons secured contract, worth approximately C$1.7bn, from the City of Edmonton to design, build and finance the Valley Line West light rail (LRT) project in Edmonton, Canada.
The project includes the design and construction of approximately 14km LRT extension that will connect downtown Edmonton to the Lewis Farms neighbourhood located in the city’s west end.
The 14 new stops and two elevated stations will serve the key points such as the West Edmonton Mall, Misericordia Hospital, NorQuest College and MacEwan University.
