US-based company General Electric’s IT hiring declined 2.0% in December 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 1.95% in December 2021 when compared with November 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 14.39% share in the company’s total hiring activity in December 2021, and recorded a 1.1% decline over the last three-month average share.

 

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops General Electric IT hiring in December 2021

Out of the total IT job titles posted by General Electric, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 73.94% in December 2021, and a 0.38% rise over November 2021, while Computer Support Specialists claimed a share of 6.8% in December 2021, and registered growth of 60%. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 5.38% in December 2021, a 35.71% rise from November 2021.

North America drives IT hiring at General Electric

North America emerged as the leading region in the global construction IT hiring activity in December 2021 with a 49.01% share, which marked a 20.98% rise over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 34.84%, registering a 6.96% month-on-month growth. Europe was the third leading region with a 15.01% share and a 32.91% drop over November 2021.

In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 1.13% and a month-on-month increase of 100%.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 41.08% share in December 2021, a 38.1% growth over November 2021. India featured next with a 30.88% share, up 14.74% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 6.52% share, a decline of 30.3% compared with November 2021.

Mid Level jobs lead General Electric IT hiring activity in December 2021

Mid Level jobs held a share of 46.18%, up by 18.12% from November 2021. Junior Level positions with a 45.04% share, a decline of 9.66% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.65% share, up 12.5% over November 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.13%, recording a month-on-month increase of 100%.
